Mr. Dahit was born in 1967 at Jotpur village of Bardiya district, western Nepal. His social service life started from 1995 and continued till this date. Right now, he is a chairperson of Tharu Indigenous NGO Federation (TINF). He is one of the leading personalities to make successful the Tharuhat movement 2009. The movement was for indigenous Tharu identity, and right and justice for indigenous people.
His academic qualification is Master degree in Management and Bachelor degree in Law and also continued his Ph.D. course. Former assistant minister and Former president of District Development Committee (DDC) Mr. Dahit has written many books, research papers and articles, some of the popular books are "An introduction to Tharu Culture", "Tharu Nepali English Dictionary" "Bibliography of Indigenous ethnic Tharu", "Tharu Indigenous knowledge and it's Practices" and "Tharu Medicinal plants and its Practices"
